Makana Municipality wishes to inform all stakeholders, community members, and interested parties that the purchased redundancy/spare pumpset has finally arrived.

The pump, which attracted significant negative and inaccurate publicity from various interested parties because of the long delivery delay,was delivered yesterday and offloaded at Howisonspoort after transport logistics were completed.

The municipality paid R2.3 million from its own revenue to bring the pump to Makana. We are pleased to close this chapter and focus on supplying water to the Makana community.

Water supply in Makhanda is currently stable on both the eastern and western sides. Contingency plans are in place to minimise interruptions, including standby workers who will respond to emergencies. No major issues have come up so far during the #NAF period.
