Makana Local Municipality hereby publishes the latest water quality results received from Sarah Baartman District Municipality.
The samples were collected on 17–18 February 2026 from various points within the Makana supply system, including distribution points, treatment works, and reservoirs. Microbiological analysis indicates that all samples complied with the requirements of SANS 241, with zero (0) coliforms and zero (0) E. coli detected in 100 mL of water.
These results confirm that the water tested is compliant with national drinking water quality standards from a microbiological perspective.
This monitoring forms part of the routine monthly water quality surveillance programme conducted by the Environmental Health Unit to ensure the continued safety of drinking water supplied to residents.
