Makana Municipality conducted microbiological testing on potable water samples collected on 29 January 2026 from six sites across Makhanda, including Nyaluza High School, Joza Clinic (J-Street and Extension 7), Raglan Road Clinic, and Tantyi Clinic.
Laboratory analysis by ELIDZ Environmental Microbiology found that:

E. coli: Not detected (<1 MPN/100 mL) in all samples

Total Coliforms: Not detected (<1 MPN/100 mL) in all samples
These results indicate that the tested drinking water met microbiological safety standards at the time of sampling and is considered safe for human consumption.
Testing was performed on cold potable water samples received on 29 January 2026, with the certificate issued on 30 January 2026 (Report No. EM-2026-00131).
