NEW TOOLS FOR PARKS DEPARTMENT

The Parks department has received essential work equipment, which include weed eaters, chain saws, and  rakes.

These tools will assist the department in carrying out its day-to-day responsibilities such as mowing/cutting grass and tree trimming. The employees also received new protective clothing. The team has started cutting main entrances and highly overgrown areas in town.

The Director of Public Safety and Community Services Mr Kelello Makgoka and the Portfolio Chairperson Councillor Thandolwethu Vayo have indicated that more equipment will be procured to ensure that the department is able to meet the demands of the public.

The newly-appointed Senior Supervisor Mr Wandile Duruwe and his Manager have drawn up a work schedule for the teams to follow to ensure the new equipment is put to good use.

The Director emphasised that  work schedules are the only tool that will ensure the town is clean and looking good.
