Dear all

This communication serves to notify Makana residents about a crisis at one of the pump stations.

The James Kleynhans pump station is flooded and all the pumps are under water. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the problem and the extent of the damages.

At this stage all reservoirs will be closed to preserve the levels and water will be shut off. Grahamstown East and Oatlands North will be affected.

Once the investigations have been completed, Amatola Water will carry out emergency repairs and determine a time when water supply will be restored.

We apologise for any inconveniences this may cause. The Municipality is attending to the emergency.
