Speaker of Council

The Speaker of Council is responsible for presiding over meetings of the municipal council to ensure they are conducted in a fair, orderly, and democratic manner. The Speaker enforces council rules, maintains order during debates, and ensures that all councillors have an equal opportunity to participate. Additionally, the Speaker upholds the integrity of the council’s decision-making processes and may also oversee public participation and ethical conduct within council proceedings.
