LET US CREATE A BETTER TOMORROW FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS
As some of you may have seen there is ongoing construction at the Oval Sports field. This is part of Phase A of the upgrade of the sports facilities at the field. The upgrade will include the construction of a new perimeter concrete block with infill concrete wall which will also have razor wire for safety reasons. To protect the perimeter wall from structural damage expansion joints have been placed in certain parts of the boundary wall. Other upgrades include:
- A new sliding access gate
- A wide single leafed pedestrian gate on the northern side of the stadium
- Six new energy efficient high mast lights will be installed
- The existing borehole and dragline sprinkler system will be upgraded and recommissioned
- The stormwater drainage system at the main entrance of the stadium will be upgraded
This work forms part of many other projects that the municipality is doing to ensure that the residents of Makana have access to good quality services. Makana Municipality would like to appeal to residents to look after these facilities because incidents of vandalism are growing at an alarming rate. Let us please report any incidents of vandalism to the SAPS as soon as we see any illegal activity.
