Eastern Cape will host only 8 matches during the 2010 Fifa World Cup out of the 64 that will be played in South Africa. Nelson Mandela Metro Stadium in Port Elizabeth is one of 10 stadiums which will be used by the 32 participating nations.

Notice is hereby given that in terms of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act No. 32 of 2000, Council at its meeting held on Monday, 31 May 2010 adopted the 2010/11 Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and 2010/11 Capi¬tal and Operating Budget. Copies of these documents are available for public inspection during Office hours at the Finance Directorate Offices in High Street, City Hall and all municipal Libraries.

Fingo Village residents came out in numbers today to witness the official switch on of the traffic lights at Raglan Road. The project is one of the quick wins approved by Council in August 2009 as part of the R93 million funding from the National Treasury for the Neighbourhood Development Partnership Grant.

Makana Municipality is omce again taking the budget to the people. Residents of Makana are invited to these meetings so they can be informed about what issues from the IDP the Municipality plans to adress in the 2010/11 financial year.
